The Sky of Desire

I won’t let anyone take away my sky of desires.

Here there’s soul, there’s heart, there’s fire that warms you.

And where would I go without my desires? Who would I be, without?

They’re deep desires. Desires visited, watched over, nurtured. They have been with me since always – as they say. They define my soul more than any other performance appraisal, they are the heat that allows me access to the love of life.

My desires aren’t only about me, my personal satisfaction. They are about the creation of a beautiful world, the contribution that I can give to others and the thing that gives my life a sense of meaning. If I look for answers to the question: why am I here on this planet? I look for the answers in the sky of my desires.

And I am a man of flesh, I walk on this earth, I interact with this world. My desires have something to do with everyone, a certain way of being in this world.

That which exists is not my enemy. That which is, that which has yet to come, that which I have is my garden of being. I’ve learned not to fight with that which is, with the present. I don’t yell at him for what he lacks. I don’t condemn him for not being yet that which I desire.

On the contrary, I consider that which is and that which has yet to come my resource, which is certain, sure and promising. Only a glimpse, it has a decisive way about it. And I watch it with attention to discover resources, talents, opportunities and promising new arrivals.

I do a little of what a farmer does with his garden. In his mind, he sees the overwhelming abbundance of fruits and vegetables, and in his hands, he holds the soil and those seeds which will bring him towards his harvest.

Because that which is and is to come isn’t just to be taken for granted as we usually have the tendancy to do. Above and beyond that which you can see, processes are in action that you aren’t able to see, but rather can infer. I infer and wait, ready to respond to the first signs.

A farmer’s work requires analysis, intuition, creativity, much reflection, sweat, fatigue – all things which make sense. Also diligence, outdoing yourself, committment, enthusiasm, magic, awe. Many mistakes and much learning.

In the end remains my practical way of loving life. Because boredom, criticism, anger, sadness and regret, are not love encompassing, enthusiasm, dance.

Real love overcomes every fear and all laziness. It fills you with the joy of doing, making the present full of meaning while pushing the present towards the birth of that which it holds, trusting in the realization of the dream, or of something even more wonderful.
